Texture improvements & Optimizations [Dev Blog #3]

Hello everyone!


Recently we have been testing the performance and it has been good, but there’s always room for improvement. As such we will be optimizing our island as it is so large. We will do this by dividing our Island into multiple sections but still keep the entire island together to avoid long loading times.



The island has also received some major texture improvements. Instead of sticking a single texture onto each part of the terrain we will now be using multiple to enhance the visuals with an extremely small impact on performance.



We have also been working on making all of our LODS more consistent and in line with VR requirements. Water is also now dynamic.
